Leadership that strengthens the IT you already have

Senior IT leadership for small and mid-sized businesses in Grande Prairie, the Peace Country, and across Alberta — working with the MSP or internal team you've already got, not replacing them.

Most IT problems aren't technology problems

BEFORE WE TALK ABOUT ME

Here's a distinction worth understanding before you evaluate any IT support — mine included.

WHAT YOU PROBABLY ALREADY HAVE

IT Execution

An MSP or an internal hire keeping the lights on: tickets, patching, backups, day-to-day support.

WHAT'S USUALLY MISSING

IT Leadership

Someone managing that execution against your business goals — holding providers accountable, and making sure spend and risk decisions are made deliberately, not reactively.

That's the gap Waypoint fills — not a replacement for the IT you have, a leadership layer supporting it.

A QUICK SELF-CHECK

Does any of this sound familiar?

1

You have an MSP handling tickets and support

…but no one is holding them accountable to your business priorities, or checking whether you're actually getting what you pay for.

2

You have technical staff who are great at their jobs

…but were never meant to own budgeting, vendor negotiation, security governance, or long-term strategy.

3

You're evaluating a new MSP or IT hire

…and want an unbiased, senior second opinion before you commit to anything.

4

You want real IT governance

…the strategic maturity of a proper IT department — including formal security governance, policy, and risk oversight — without adding a full-time executive to headcount.

IT Leadership

Project Consulting

Start here. An unbiased evaluation of your current environment, your provider, and your support. No retainer, no commitment — just a clear picture of where things actually stand.

Ongoing.  Senior IT leadership on a monthly retainer — strategic planning, budgeting, vendor management, security oversight, and direct management of your existing MSP or internal team.

One-time. Defined engagements outside a retainer — network rebuilds, Microsoft 365 migrations, security uplift, and leadership on critical technical transitions.

NATIONAL EXPERIENCE

I grew up in the Peace Country, and Waypoint is built for the businesses here — the same kinds of SMBs and oilfield operators I've spent my career supporting. Behind that is fifteen-plus years across ISP operations, municipal government, MSP delivery, and national enterprise IT infrastructure, managing complex environments and the teams behind them at every scale from a five-person shop to a national organization.

I've seen too many good businesses get more confused by their consultants, not less. Waypoint is my answer to that: plain language over jargon, real relationships over billable hours, and advice built to serve you — not to protect a sale.

Why Waypoint

I don't sell software or hardware

No rip-and-replace required

A traditional MSP's revenue depends on support tickets, seat counts, and licensing — mine doesn't. There's no incentive to inflate scope, and every recommendation is made to benefit you first.

Most engagements start with the IT you already have. I add a leadership and accountability layer on top of it, not a migration project.

I sit between you and whoever executes your IT

No client lock-in

MSP or internal team — I translate business goals into technical direction, support your team to deliver, and step in with direct accountability wherever you want more of it.

Month-to-month retainers, plain-language contracts, and documentation that's yours from day one — you're never boxed in.

The lowest-risk way to start

An IT Health Audit is a flat-fee, no-commitment evaluation of your current environment, provider, and support. You get a clear, honest picture of where things stand and what — if anything — needs to change. Whether you work with me after that is entirely up to you.
